The job in a nutshell

Where will you end up?

You will be joining "the Comfort Brigade", which is Jack's handyman and maintenance service. Jack rents out affordable and quality appartments in the Antwerp and Brussels area. The Comfort Brigade ensures that Jack's appartments are always in the best possible condition, so that tenants can live comfortably.

Practical

We are looking for someone who can bring the following skills in addition to painting and renovation talent:

• You have a very good knowledge of Dutch and preferably also English, French or Arabic or a combination thereof. This allows you to communicate fluently with our tenants.
• You work smoothly and enjoy working with others, but you can also work independently if necessary.
• You like variety and you are flexible: every day will be different, schedules may change or urgent repairs may be needed.
• You have experience in the construction, renovation or handyman sector. You have experience in painting and renovation work and have a technical knowledge of materials.
• You can work in the Antwerp and Brussels area.
• You have a driving licence B.

Job-related competences

• Remove, install or repair floor and wall coverings (tiles, parquet, panelling, skirting boards, etc.)
• Diagnose defects in installations (lighting, heating, plumbing, etc.)
• Monitoring stock, identifying shortages, placing orders
• Preparing substrates (walls, woodwork, etc.) and applying intermediate and finishing coats of paint
• Repairing or replacing handles, glass, rails, etc. of doors and windows
• Check and maintain sanitary installation, central heating and hot water production
• Performing basic maintenance
• Cleaning the vehicle
• Install and touch up wallpaper and fitted carpets
• Maintain and repair electrical installations (lighting, ventilation, intercom, etc.)
• Maintain green areas and outdoor spaces
• Modify or repair existing brickwork

This is what you can expect

We are looking for someone with experience in painting and embellishment work (e.g. of a stairwell, entrance hall and so on).

Other tasks may also be involved, such as:

• Renovation: fitting a kitchen or bathroom or gyproc wall, filling.
• Maintenance: maintaining green areas, unclogging a drain
• Light administrative work: maintaining good relations with suppliers of building and maintenance materials, keeping track of materials stock.
